Jacob was up not too bright and early. Made some blueberry pancakes with Mimi.
There's so much to explore here: Pop's big tractor, a little tractor, the garden and new toys. Fun, fun, fun!
There was also some fun, new things for Fraser and me: bee keeping. We got to suit up with Pop and check on their two hives. Their bee keeping with one of their neighbours. Super fun.
A fascinating time. Those bees are just super busy. Lots of buzzing. We had to check lots of the supers (the trays that come out) in the second hive so the bees were getting a bit irritated with us by the end. They wanted to be left alone. It was really neat, though.
The cousins came over tonight too! A whole new party could now begin :) It was super cute to see them all hang out. Savannah got to be in charge of the boys while they all played together while the adults got a little talking time in. Really cute. They were all just loving it.
And, of course, the classic Cousins in the Tub time:
Travel day. Everything went so well, which is fantastic! We were trying to park in a park-n-ride and take the train to the airport but they don't allow parking for more than 24 hours. Totally silly because it's a great public transportation system and goes all the way out to the airport. To not be able to use it from the suburbs for vacations is a bummer. I called the comment line.
Anyway, the flight was long but really good. Jacob slept for probably two hours or so, which was amazing. Right in his little seat. Then we took the Marta train from the airport out closer to Mimi and Pop's house. That part got a little long and the boy was definitely losing patience. He did great, though. We finally got to meet them at the train station! Yay!
Jacob was so excited to be done traveling. He was chasing after Lucy, their dog. He couldn't even eat he was so excited. All he wanted to do was follow Lucy. It was very cute. After lots of energy release time, he finally made it to bed at 11:30, which is bed time, Portland time.
We grownups hung out for awhile longer before finally heading to bed. We've had some unusually cool weather, this evening, so we were able to hang out on the screened in porch (probably my favourite place at their house). Ah, good times.
